DiamondCheck

GIA DiamondCheck is intended to examine colorless stones in the D-to-N range. It identifies natural, untreated diamonds and refers for further analysis of stones that may be treated or laboratory-grown.

  • GIA DiamondCheck is based on the same technology and processes used at GIA. It can identify natural, untreated diamonds and refer for further analysis of diamonds that may be treated or laboratory-grown.
  • Drawing on GIA's decades of research in the identification of laboratory-grown and treated diamonds, the system consists of a commercially-available spectroscopic instrument operating with GIA-developed software for automatic data interpretation.
  • Examine one unmounted stone at a time, from 1 point to 10 carats. When used as indicated, GIA DiamondCheck will refer 100% of all colorless laboratory-grown stones in the D-to-N range.
  • The examined stone receives one of three results: natural diamond; diamond but requires further testing for treatments or because it may be laboratory-grown; non-diamond material such as moissanite or cubic zirconia (material type is not specified).
